Clinical Supervision

The Melbourne Centre for ISTDP is the leading provider of Treatment and Training in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy in Australasia

Internet-based ISTDP supervision

The Melbourne Centre for ISTDP offers internet-based, individual and group ISTDP supervision. It is available to any mental health professional with internet access and a webcam. The components of supervision are outlined below.

You will need a broadband internet connection of 1024 kbit/s downlink (which is less what people have on average) or more and a computer with a Core 2 Duo 2 GHz processor (basically any reasonable computer purchased in the last 2-3 years).

You need to be video recording at least one or two clients. This is because the unconscious largely communicates via non-verbal signals and we need to be able to accurately recognise and read those signals to know which interventions are required in each moment of the treatment session.

If you would like more information or to discuss commencing internet-based ISTDP supervision, please contact Dr Stephen Arthey or Dr Dion Nowoweiski
